The Massachusetts Colony General Court granted permission in 1652 to have dies prepared for silver coinage. The fourth and last in the series was Pine Tree design that replaced the Oak Tree Design and was produced from 1667 to 1682. Denominations were the threepence, sixpence, and shilling. The original coins are extremely rare so these coins would make a great addition to your Colonial America coin collection. Diameter: 28 mm The reverse of the coin is stamped with the word copy.
